Renias is amongst a handful of people in the world who have mastered the art of animal tracking.

Born in what is today the greater Kruger National Park, Renias was raised in the ancient traditions of Shangaan hunter-gathering, learning essential skills that would later define his life’s work in restoring the ancient artform of tracking.

In 1984, Renias found his true calling as a tracker at Londolozi Game Reserve, where he could fully utilize his exceptional naturalist skills. Here he played a pivotal role in habituating the world-famous leopards of Londolozi. Having tracked animals all over the world, he has shared his profound understanding of African wildlife, culture, and philosophy with a global audience.

Renias is a renowned speaker and co-author of two books: Tracker Manual and Changing a Leopard’s Spots.

He is the co-founder of the Tracker Academy, where he continues to use his invaluable knowledge to build the next generation of wildlife trackers and to pass on ancient skills in service of modern conservation efforts.
