Londolozi Game Reserve
Londolozi Game Reserve is one of South Africa's original private game reserves and has been a pillar of global ecotourism for nearly 100 years. The reserve is located on the banks of the Sand River, in the wild eastern part of South Africa, adjacent to the greater Kruger National Park. The land is untamed, breathtakingly beautiful, and suffused with the energy of spectacular wildlife.
Londolozi operates five exquisite camps which offer blissful accommodation, profound vistas, and authentic African cuisine. All Londolozi camps offer the same access to 34,000 acre reserve with some of the best big five game viewing in Africa, led by some of the continent’s most knowledgeable guides and trackers.

It is difficult to put into words just how special this place is. I stayed in Pioneer Camp which truly exceeded any expectations I had… incredible. The South African wildlife is just magical, I can’t put it into words. You must experience it for yourself. Beautiful, a treat for the soul. The staff are some of the warmest, most lovely people I’ve ever met. Each of them have a genuine passion for what they do and this is special to witness. Founts of knowledge. So impressive.

Just the right amount of down time was provided on each day’s itinerary to relax and take in the beautiful surroundings and spa at Londolozi. We also had the opportunity to tour the camp where over 200 dedicated Londolozi staff members live to make this such an amazing place. The tour also provided insights on the commitment of Londolozi to offer continuing education for all staff in an eco friendly and self sustainable environment.

Where to even begin! My husband and I had the most spectacular adventure and stay at Londolozi. We were fortunate not only to stay in the gorgeous and secluded Private Granite Suites, but to be treated to the most impeccable hospitality, facilitated by Harleigh. Harleigh treated us with such warmth and care, we truly felt like we were instantly right at home and family. And Mendrew too brought such kindness and care, each time we stepped into the common area.
It is honestly hard to put into words the specialness of our time. Just 4 nights and yet we feel like we are forever connected to this extraordinary place and the people who make it so.

I would recommend reading Londolozi's blog to get a feel of what their game drives are like. Healing House treatments are really worth checking out. My husband recommends their photography studio. We both recommend Back of the House tour. Take plenty of photo storage platforms! Wifi is excellent but carefully crafted to be only available in specific areas. They are well equipped to handle South Africa's frequent load sheddings. Rooms were immaculately maintained. Their laundry service was excellent- you really don't have to pack much. They even had electric adapters in the room.

Our stay at the Londolozi Varty Camp in October 2023 was perfect in every way! From the moment we arrived at the Skukuza airport to our departure, no detail was overlooked and executed to perfection. The staff, hospitality, atmosphere, accommodations, wine and food were five stars. And the game drives….. What a wonderful and memorable experience! Lead by a very professional guide and tracker who provided opportunities to see no less than four of the five “Big 5” and countless other animals on every game drive. This while often becoming part of their natural habitat through their efforts to get us close to the wildlife which can only be accomplished through an off road experience.

This retreat is for individuals, couples, families or groups looking for a safari experience unlike anything else in the world.

April through July are our winter months in South Africa. It will be warm when the sun is out and may be quite cold when the sun sets. The atmosphere at Londolozi is very casual and dinner is outside so dressing for dinner means layering up. Here are some things to include when you pack: long and short sleeve tees, sweaters or sweatshirts, comfortable pants and shorts/skirts, walking shoes and/or hiking boots or suitable trainers, sun hat and sunglasses, sunscreen, windbreaker, warm fleece, down or bush jacket, gloves, and hat.

Londolozi is situated in a malaria area; therefore all guests must consult their medical practitioner regarding anti-malaria requirements prior to travel.

Yes, if space is available. You will be responsible for any charges outside of the Track Your Life Retreat. If you wish to extend your stay at Londolozi beyond the end of the retreat, please let us know and our reservations team will help guide you further with availability and rates.

Safety is an absolute priority to everything we do on the Track Your Life Wild Self retreats. The facilitators and trackers we work with are all highly trained and very experienced. Respect for the natural world is our guiding philosophy and each day as we enter the wilderness from camp it will be with a mindset to have as little impact as possible. Read more here.
